ZDIG Wins RAIN Grant

ZDIG is honored to receive a $3,000, STEM grant from RAIN (Rural Activation & Innovation Network) Navapache Council, funded by the National Science Foundation. This grant supports the purchase of a skeletal reconstruction by Gaston Designs of our latest dinosaur, Suskityrannus hazelae, described in the Journal Nature May 6, 2019. We are grateful to have received additional funding for the skeleton by private donors Willard and Christine Hatch. This skeleton will be a feature of new exhibits“Tracking the Time Before T-rex” to be shared with students, the community and visitors. Exhibit will explore the unique Dinosaurs of the the middle Cretaceous who lived in a greenhouse world. This new exhibit will be featured at the White Mountain Nature Center Memorial day weekend, May 23-27, 2019. Suskityrannus hazelae will then be on display at ZDIG Headquarters, community programs and school programs for 2019-2020 calendar year.
